1931 Daimler Double six

Production of the Daimler double six commenced in 1926 and although the model remained available until 1936,a production figure of as low as 26 is frequently quoted, although a figure of 75 seems more likely. All of them were built to meet the special demands of the ownersand as a result no two were alike. There was one notable exception, which sported a custom chassis constructed by Thomson and Taylort to a design penned by Reid Railton. It differed from the other chassis in that it had an underslung rear end as you can see in the pictures. The car was with the Burnett family for around forty years until it was sold to RM classic cars who secured a buyer for it,who got the car completely restored. The car was ready for the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours de Elegance. It was instantly clear that this would be the top contender for the coveted,Best of Show. The judges agreed and bestowed upon the car,the highest honors in the country and possible the world..It was named Best of Show.
